Hey Sister! Here’s another saying that I freaking love. You are 1 decision away from changing your life. This can be a tiny, little, micro decision or a ginormous decision. In either case, the impact can be life altering. I would even go so far as to say that the smaller decisions will be the ones that cause the unexpected and amazing shifts.
Whether you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, whether you are dreaming about improving some aspect of your life or just want to be better at something, one small decision might just be the thing that propels you towards that change. Before you roll your eyes or shut me down because of fear or excuses let’s talk about what this really means.
The key here is mindset shift. It’s about changing the way you think about yourself and your life. For example, want to improve your overall mood? Maybe saying a positive affirmation each day such as “I am capable of achieving my goals”. Or, this is a silly one but boy does it create change. Every morning look in the mirror and smile at yourself. That’s it. Smile. Maybe go so far as to give yourself a small compliment. These small shifts in mindset WILL change your mood and outlook, in the best way!

Maybe you’re feeling a little isolated or lonely or like you just don’t have the connections that you would like in your life. Maybe you need to join a club or organization that aligns with your interests or a hobby that you would like to take up. Maybe you need to join a fitness or yoga class. Or maybe you should keep an eye out for the next version of Sister Circle (shameless plug 🙂) so that you can connect with like minded women for a big life shift.
Or are you in a job that is no longer fulfilling you? Is it time for a new job or a new career? Maybe you just need to learn something new or ask for a new responsibility to liven it up? New opportunities, new skills are huge mindset shifts and will lead to a sense of personal growth and contentment.
Here is a super most tangible example. Say you aren’t feeling as fit and healthy as you’d like. Maybe you decide to walk 1 mile a day. That, on average is about 20 minutes a day. For some that might seem like an insurmountable goal, for others it will feel like 1 mile isn’t enough to make a change and isn’t worth the time. But here’s the deal. If you make the commitment - to yourself - to put those kicks on each and every day for 1 mile (you can do anything for 20 minutes and I guarantee you’ve accomplished much harder) so, for just 1 mile each day. Think about what that means. After 1 week you’ve walked 7!! miles. A month? 30 miles. A year? 365 freaking, amazing, loving miles!!! You loved yourself for 365 miles and days. Now, outside of the number what does that do for you? You cleared your head each day. You likely made some improved nutritional decisions throughout the year.I bet you drank more water than the year before. You altered the energy throughout your body, cleaning out the lymph system. Girl, you just made a small shift, with a short daily time commitment that had a massive impact on who you are and how you live your life. Good for you!
It’s all about the mindset shift. It doesn’t have to be big to have positive, lasting impact on your life. On the lives of your family, your co-workers and career, on your community. It’s your time, make the best of it! What shift will you make? Or do you need help identifying what the priorities are? Let me know, I’m here to help.
